Cloud Data Synchronization

ClientFinancial Services Agency

A cloud-based customer service application maintains financial information that needs to be reflected in back-office systems. An industry-standard data integration mechanism is implemented to synchronize records between the cloud and on-premise platforms.

Case Study Overview

Initial State

Customer Service portal is deployed in a public cloud, allowing government employees manage their benefits and pension information online. Financial Management systems deployed on premise get out of sync with respect to employee information.

Target State

A cloud-based Customer Service data synchronization adapter is engaged, to enable real-time updates to the back-office applications. The adapter is configured to use REST-style web services and industry-standard OData messaging protocol.

To ensure proper Application Integration governance and security, API Management appliances are deployed in the DMZ facing the cloud environment. The cloud access tier is complemented with an Application Server cluster, hosting an open-source OData framework that generates metadata and performs message transformation.
