Integration Service Layer

ClientFinancial Services Agency

Public-sector financial services are available on premise, while advisor and customer portals are published in the cloud. An integration layer is required to enable service interaction, governance and security of user and system traffic between the corporate and cloud environments.

Case Study Overview

Initial State

Government employee benefits and compensation administration services are available on the internal network. Financial advisor and end-user web interfaces are migrated to a salesforce and customer service automation cloud. A mid-tier integration technology is needed to enable workflow and data synchronization.

Target State

A cluster of web service virtual appliances is provisioned on a bare-metal cloud platform for back-office interaction. A prototype system and data integration logic is configured and tested on the appliances. In addition, data access adapters are deployed on a web container, to enable information feeds to the presentation cloud.

An Integration Service Layer (ISL) is deployed and connected to enterprise single sign-on and API authorization platform, to ensure cloud access is secure.
